McAninch receives national award New York City - Engineering News-Record magazine presented Des Moines entrepreneur J. Dwayne McAninch with its 2005 Award of Excellence at a ceremony in New York City. McAninch is CEO and founder of McAninch Corp., Iowa's largest earthmoving contractor. ENR selected McAninch from a list of 25 finalists who have demonstrated innovation in the construction industry. According to the magazine, "the pioneering and persevering work of J. Dwayne McAninch is set to revolutionize design and construction in the field." The 69-year-old McAninch has spent decades perfecting and advocating the use of global positioning system technology in his industry, bringing earthmoving into the digital age.
