Under contract with North Kansas City School District and working with construction manager JE Dunn, McAninch performed approximately 1.3 million cubic yards of grading. It also required 25 acres of clearing and grubbing of trees and approximately 35,000 tons of granular material placed on the building pad and temporary access roads.

The NASCAR-style Iowa Speedway developed by U.S. Motorsport Corp. is a 7/8 mile tri-oval. McAninch is the earthmoving and underground utilities contractor. McAninch will move about 1.6 million cubic yards of cut and fill and construct 80 underground structures and install nearly 40,000 feet of various kinds and sizes of pipe.

Under contract to Panattoni Development, McAninch moved 120,000 cubic yards on this 40-acre site for the 350,000-square-foot expansion of a distribution warehouse. 6,172 linear feet sanitary, storm sewer, and water main.

For an 860,000-square-foot distribution warehouse on 70 acres, McAninch moved 325,000 cubic yard with seven scrapers and two finish dozers. 11,933 linear feet sanitary, storm sewer, and water main.

For the new home office on Westown Parkway, McAninch moved 15,000 cubic yards on 3.5 acres. 1,700 linear feet sanitary, storm sewer, and water main.

McAninch graded 30,000 cubic yards on Westown Parkway for the company’s new 95,000-square-foot headquarters complex.

For Polk County General Services, McAninch excavated and trucked away 196,000 cubic yards, and installed underground shoring, for Iowa’s new sports arena and exhibition venue in downtown Des Moines. The much anticipated facility will attract conventions and entertainments that could not otherwise be seen in Iowa.

This exciting facility will bring forth new scientific knowledge. A combination of roads, buildings, and ponds on 25 acres required a variety of equipment for both earthmoving and excavation. The total volume was 90,000 cubic yards.

This project has a 16 acre pond, 22,500 square foot of building and 10 acres of parking. It has 9,253 linear feet of sanitary sewer, water main and storm sewer. McAninch performed 340,000 cubic yards of excavation.
