Route 36 Macon County, MO
For the Missouri Department of Transportation, McAninch moved 3.1
million yards of earth to upgrade Route 36 to a four lane divided highway.
The $35.3-million project consisted of 275,000 square yards of 12-inch
concrete paving, 45,000 cubic yards of 8-inch un-bonded concrete overlay,
4 bridges, 3 box culverts, and 10,000 feet of storm sewer.
Route 60 Butler County, MO
For the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT), McAninch moved
3.0 million cubic yards, some of which was solid rock, for reconstruction
of a 20-mile stretch of state highway near Poplar Bluff. The $34-million
project involved 400,000 square yards of 12-inch concrete paving, three
bridges, and ten box culverts.
Route 60 Carter County, MO
McAninch excavated 1.3 million cubic yards of earth and rock for this
$15-million project. Structures included poured-in-place bridges, box
culverts, roadway pipe, and 207,000 square yards of concrete paving.
Highway 5 Des Moines, IA
For the Iowa DOT, McAninch cut, filled, and graded four miles of four-lane
right of way for the Highway 5 By-Pass east and south of Des Moines.
On the $18-million project, 4.6 million cubic yards were moved in 14
months.
South Jordan Creek Parkway West Des Moines, IA
McAninch built the 1.4-mile South Jordan Creek Parkway
for the City of West Des Moines. Earthmoving totals were 720,000 cubic yards
and 51,900 square yards of 10-inch PCC paving. McAninch underground
crews laid 10,250 linear feet of storm sewer pipe and 7,950 feet
of water mains.
Des Moines International Airport
5,700-Foot Runway Extension
McAninch ran six excavators, 31 articulated dump trucks, and four D10/11
scrapers on two shifts for 130 days to cut and fill 5.2 million cubic
yards and install 5,640 feet of storm sewer. Airport Engineer Bruce Rydberg
reported: “McAninch provided the equipment and personnel to get
the job done fast. They met the advanced deadline, saving a full construction
season.”
